Crew Profiles:
Captain Richard Fuher
Richard grew up in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, and alas, his position on M/Y Miss Christine is not exactly typical of someone who grew up surrounded by snow–peaked mountains and 3 million acres of national forests! An avid snow skier since youth, Richard’s all–around love of the outdoors ultimately led him to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in 1991 Richard spent his undergraduate years at the Merchant Marine Academy not only gaining his knowledge of marine engineering and navigation, but also participating as a Varsity member and Fleet Captain of the Offshore Sailing Team. He still enjoys racing sailboats when time permits; and yet, since his departure from the Academy, he has applied his skills & knowledge to a variety of professional marine positions on sailing and motor yachts. After logging 130,000 nautical miles in deck and engine cadet positions on unlimited tonnage cargo ships, Richard eventually found his way to the yachting industry in 1995. He has since worked on many high–profile sailing and motor yachts, not only in First Mate and Engineer positions, but also as a Captain. With a U.S.C.G 1600–Ton Upon Oceans Master ticket under his belt, Rich’s sailing experiences have taken him all over the world. From South America to Alaska, Egypt to Singapore, Turkey to Norway, and throughout the Caribbean and Eastern shores of the U.S., Richard has certainly made the most of his career at sea. Richard obviously has a passion for sailing…but his talents don’t stop there. He is also a PADI certified diver, and he shoots rifles, pistols, and shotguns competitively. His time off ship is spent with his wife Jemma & children Aniya, Saskia & Frankie, either in their native New Zealand or on the family ranch in Nevada, minding their Longhorn cattle.

First Officer Brendan Tillman
Brenden is born and raised from Stuart, FL. Since his youth he has always been in the sun and around the water on boats. Throughout those years he was also been involved in all watersport activities that oceans, rivers and lakes have to offer. Fishing, surfing, sailing, boat-building and much more naturally led him to yachting. After high school, he started doing dockside work on sportfish yachts and quickly earned a full-time mate position traveling to the BVIs for summer blue marlin, spending the remaining months based in the Bahamas. Since then, he has lead deck crew on vessels up to 50-meters traveling as far North as Montréal via the St. Lawrence River and as far South as St. Kitts and Nevis. Currently, he is nearing completion of his Master 500GT Near Coastal endorsement and proud to be part of developing the team onboard MISS CHRISTINE. His dream job is to captain a yacht which travels the US Eastern seaboard and share his love for nature and its sea life. In his free time you will find Brenden spending every moment with his two young sons hiking in local parks, enjoying petting zoos and taking them on tractor rides.

Engineer Gregory Evanoff (rotational)
Welcome Aboard Miss Christine! I am the Chief Engineer on board and can help you with anything you may need. My goal is to make sure you have the best experience possible with as little worries as possible. Please do not hesitate to alert me if anything needs fixed or seems out of the ordinary. My role on board is to maintain and fix everything and keep the ship running smoothy. I am often at work behind the scenes but am always here to help. I have been working on yachts for the past 9 years and love everything about it. I grew up on a small farm in Pennsylvania where we were constantly fixing and building everything by ourselves. This experience, along with lots of training, courses, and self-education, allowed me to smoothly transition into engineering on yachting. In my free time I enjoy running and trying to live a healthy lifestyle. I am currently building an off-grid house in Pennsylvania and enjoy designing and building new systems for it when I am home. I would one day like to use it as a prototype to build more off-grid homes around the country! I am looking forward to getting to know you better and hope that you have a wonderful experience on board! Also, please feel free to come down at any time for an engine room tour

FAQ

We’ll be pleased to assist you in deciding which activities suit your personality and interests the best. Your crew and captain are experts. They are familiar with the locale and the greatest things to do. They can give advice on where to go fishing, diving, or snorkeling. They are aware of the locations of the remotest beaches. They can give advice on the top boutiques, eateries, or nightclubs.

We’ll provide you a food choice survey to fill out so we can figure out what kinds of meals you and your visitors would like to eat while you’re away. Along with your preferences, the form will ask about any dietary requirements, medical restrictions, or food allergies that any members of your party may have. Prior to your departure, you will also get the chance to ask any questions of a crew member. The team will next make your favorite cocktails and fresh, gourmet meals for the rest of the voyage.

Running costs are not included in the rates given for motor yacht charters and must be paid separately. Catamarans for sailing must be all-inclusive. The costs are determined by the number of people and cover all meals, drinks (including the typical ship’s bar), fuel, ice, and aquatic activities. Taxes, dockage fees, and communication expenses must all be paid individually.

Food, alcohol, fuel, dockage, port fees, and any other costs associated with the charter are considered running costs.
Typically, the operating costs represent 35% of the base charter fee. A 35% Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA) will be paid in advance of your departure, giving the crew time to stock the yacht. A detailed breakdown of all costs will be provided to you at the conclusion of the charter. If there is still a balance, you will get a refund; however, if expenses are higher than the APA, you will have to pay the outstanding balance before disembarking.

Florida’s tax ranges from 6-7%, depending on the port of embarkation, while the Bahamian tax is 14%. The charter cost also includes tax.

What to anticipate if you have to cancel your vacation is covered in your charter agreement. To protect yourself in the event that unavoidable circumstances force you to cancel your trip, we advise buying cancellation insurance.

luxury yacht rental is made to meet all of your requirements for the entirety of your journey. The skipper and crew will do everything possible to meet and exceed your expectations. The captain’s first priority, however, is the security of his crew and the boat. He has the last say on anything that could affect the safety of passengers.

Yes. Although not required, leaving a tip is encouraged, especially if your yacht rental experience left you feeling especially satisfied. At the completion of your charter, you should give the captain a 15% gratuity.

Once you’ve decided on a yacht, we’ll place an “option” on it, securing it for 48 hours while you finish the paperwork. Then, a yacht charter agreement must be read and signed. We are happy to answer any queries you may have and thoroughly explain the terms. You must send your completed contract together with a deposit for the charter.

50% of the charter cost is required as a down payment; however, if there are less than 30 days to departure, the whole amount is due. The deposit is made via bank wire transfer and is kept in an escrow account by the principal agent of the yacht until just before the charter date. You have secured the yacht once we get your signed contract and down payment.

We’ll start collaborating with you to customize your charter. Your food and exercise preference survey will be delivered to you. We’ll set up a phone call for you and the crew. We will assist you in planning all charter-related details, including transportation in a limousine and flights.

If you are renting a motor boat, the APA funds and the remaining balance of the charter are due 30 days before the start of your trip.
