Boasting mostly sub-tropical weather and the powerful Gulf Stream current flowing just off the east coast of the state, South Florida features the remarkable Florida Keys, a string of islands with the southernmost being the notable Key West. One can cruise the various Keys inside the reef in shoal-draft vessels off the eastern “ocean” side of the Keys, or make a straight shot from Miami to Key West running farther offshore.
Fort Lauderdale is “The Yachting Capital of the World” and together with Miami and West Palm Beach serves as your keystone to a great yacht charter in Florida. The Florida Keys begin south of Miami and extend for over 135 miles to Key West.
Sheltered by a living coral reef, yacht charters in the Florida Keys offer splendid conditions for charters year-round. The climate is tropical while being moderated by ocean breezes. Here you will find spectacular coral reefs for diving, and quality marina facilities or peaceful anchorages for your charter yacht. At the end of the chain of islands, you’ll find Key West, laid-back and friendly with its own characters, charm, and quaint tradition of sunset-watching on Duval Street. Combined with a crewed yacht charter, being low key in the lower keys is the perfect remedy for daily stress! The larger charter yachts are limited in their ability to navigate these waters, but options for yacht charters in Florida include smaller intimate charter yachts, sailing charter yachts, and catamarans
Day 1: Arrive in South Florida, to begin with, your charter adventure. The first cruise destination will be around the Intracoastal Waterway on Miami bay. There you can view the spectacular mansions on Palm, Fisher, Star Island, and Hibiscus. Dock close to South Beach so you can embrace the experience of different languages, ethnic restaurants, Latin Music, and the nightclubs where you can dance the night away.
Day 2: After your taste of Miami, We will continue cruising south. Sailing close to Key Biscayne, Where you can see Stittsville’s legendary homes and where president Nixon had his vacation home. When you notice that you can’t longer see Miami’s skyline. Then you will notice the Florida Keys islands. Your Florida charter yacht will stop at Elliot Key and the nearby reefs. Where you can jump overboard into the sea. To finally end the day, we dock at the Ocean Reef Club for the night.
Day 3:The next morning enjoy the golf course, relaxing by the pool, or just shopping. Later on the day, we continue South/West towards the Middle Keys where we can stop and take the tender to go see Indian Key or to snorkel around, the last of the untouched keys. At night we can have dinner at Hawks Cay Marina in Duck Key. A close encounter with the dolphins at the dolphin pool is A must-do in this location.
Day 4: Off to Key West where you can shop all day and bar hop all night. Don’t forget to get to Mallory Square before sunset! To start your night of fun, we suggest Sloppy Joes.
Day 5: Head down to Sand Key after your encounter with Key West or the Marqueses Keys for some fun water activities. Here we will anchor out so you can experience one of the worldís most beautiful sunsets (yes, even better than Key West).
Day 6: As we start heading North again, we can stop at Little Torch Key where you can dine at Little Palm Island, the Keys-only resort & spa.
Day 7: On our last day we cruise back to Miami and kiss the Florida Keys goodbye. You leave with many great memories and pictures to show and tell to your friends back home.
